About Me
Counselling Victoria, BC

I was born and raised in Victoria, British Columbia where I am thankful for the mild weather that allows me to get out and enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds us.

One of my favourite things to do is to walk the beach in the middle of the winter.

I consider myself a lifelong learner and am continually reading and taking advanced courses to hone my craft of counselling.

From an early age, I have had a curiosity about psychology and an interest in helping others. Taking my first psychology course in High School left me wanting to learn more and launched my helping career.

With over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, I have held various positions working with youth and adults. During my Social Work education, my counselling career began as a peer counsellor where I learned foundational skills for my future career.

During that time I volunteered for the Victoria Sexual Assault Centre as a crisis line worker and a sexual assault response worker.  With these positions I gained an appreciation of feminist and social justice work which has stayed with me throughout my career.  I graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work in 2004 and have worked in schools, with people with disabilities with mental health issues, and most recently in substance use services in Island Health.

Additionally, I have also volunteered with Citizen’s Counselling Centre for over 10 years providing individual, group and couples counselling for Victoria residents who otherwise might not be able to afford counselling.

Each of these experiences and positions has shaped my counselling and who I am as a person.  I always feel deeply honoured to sit with my clients and hear thier stories.
