My Approach

I provide a comfortable, confidential counselling space to talk about personal topics.  My approach includes using a trauma-informed, feminist, anti-oppressive, person-centred, strengths' based relational style.

I am a provider for the following programs:

  • Crime Victim Assistance Program

  • First Nations Health Authority

I offer adult individual counselling for the effects of childhood trauma. These include but are not limited to:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Grief and Loss

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Shame

  • Self Esteem and Body Image

  • Struggles with over or under eating

  • Substance Use

  • Critical inner voice

Although my approach may be varied, I primarily work through a Somatic Attachment lens which means that I use the body as a guide in our sessions.  This means that I use the nervous system and the counselling relationship to help repair early relational trauma.  In session, somatic techniques are used to assist in the processing of early trauma and attachment disruption.  In addition to this, I draw on concepts from Polyvagal theory and Interpersonal Neurobiology to help you learn how to regulate your body and emotions through trauma processing.

I believe that we heal in attuned, safe and secure relationships with others.  This includes the therapeutic relationship.

Through this relational, attachment-based approach I can help you feel more grounded, present, and boundaried in your daily life and in your relationships.

Working in this way will help build a stronger sense of self and feelings of calm and connectedness to yourself and others. resources page
